Happy feet

I'm sorry, but this looks HUGE to me!  I know everyone says the footers look small...maybe because I'm looking down on it from higher up?  In any case, this is what I found when I stopped by today at 9:30 am.  They obviously poured the footers yesterday, because they were walking around on them while setting up the forms for the basement walls.  Can't wait to see what's there tomorrow morning!

Please ignore the distortion, I'm playing with my new favorite toy and I haven't figured out all the intricate details of how it works yet.  :)

Here's a more distant view:

And I love that you can see the brick shaping that the molds will put on the basement walls:

  1. WOW! Great Progress, Amanda!! Looks like we are working with the same timeline! Wooohooo! We are building the same model; however, the basement walls look different. I am wondering if you have brick to grade on Elevation E. That might be the difference.

Wait until you see the roof. Elevation E has a huge roof line. We are building an E next to a Rome elev B and ours looks much larger. Our roof was the last the roofers wanted to tackle. I had no idea that it would look so much bigger.

    1. We don't have any next door neighbors yet, but there are two D's, an L, and a B on our street. As well as two Milans. We're going to be a bit cookie-cuttery! It'll definitely be interesting to see how ours compares. Did you have a basement? I'm a little confused by how they seem to be constructing ours, but I also might be a little turned around in how I'm looking at it.

    2. No, it's on a slab. We are built to plan. The garage is on the right if your facing the house. We opted to put our hose bib on the side of the house so that it's not on the porch.

    3. It makes more sense today, since we saw the frames for the basement walls up. I need to remember to discuss hose placement with the PM!
