Framing day 2

Not much had changed since my Saturday visit when we went over on Sunday, but since there was no one working I was able to take more pictures.

Not much different than before!

Nice, orderly supplies

Inside of our garage

These orange boards (as opposed to the usual pine-color) are intriguing.  What are they for?

Inside our basement, from ground level.  Should give you an idea of how many steps we'll have!

Our main floor!

Possibly one of the neatest job sites I've encountered in blogland.

This is a neighbor house, first chance I've gotten to see a side entry garage.

Looks a lot different when it's not being used as an office!

I did run by the house today around 5:30...lots of new stuff, but it'll have to wait until morning!

  1. So exciting!!! It will be up before you know it. Maybe by Friday if they dont have weather delays.

    1. There's currently no rain forecast until Sunday, so it's a good possibility! The PM says he's waiting on the trusses to be delivered and then he'll have a better idea.

  2. Love the side entry garage! I agree with Catherine--expect to see it UP by Friday! AND capture every moment you can--I think this is the most exciting part of the build watching the small details fall into place. Until the ROOF is up, I will be on OCD alert and working myself into a 12 steep building recovery program (LOL) because to finish packing, decluttering etc etc.

    1. I'm doing the best I can to capture! My husband was like really? when I said I wanted to go out there yesterday, because we were just out there the day before. Well duh! A LOT can change in a day when framing's going on!

And the first step is always admitting you have a problem. I haven't conquered the first step yet... :D

  3. Go you! We were supposed to start framing yesterday, but for unknown reasons we didn't...

  4. So exciting!! It sucks for us that we can't go everyday to catch the action. We go on weekends.
I love your side entry garage. Wasn't an option on ours.

    1. I would hate not being able to go everyday! My husband doesn't care so much, silly man. Once all the work is happening indoors where I can't see it, I'll probably only go 2-3 times a week while one kid is in school.

Side entry depends on what model and the width of your lot. If we'd been building a Verona we couldn't have done it on our lot...it's much wider than the Rome. As it is our driveway is not as wide as they usually make it for side entry, because of the width of the lot.

  5. We fooled ourselves in the beginning by saying we would only probably only go by a couple of times a week... that has already changed and we haven't even broken ground. Starting tomorrow when they break ground it'll be hard not to go by more than once a day though! I need to charge the camera batteries! =)
